At The Fix last week, we had the pleasure of introducing our e-Meditation headset to Lara Lewington — one of the UK’s most recognisable tech broadcasters, journalists and authors.
Lara is known for making complex technologies relatable. From hosting the BBC’s flagship show Click, to her work on Panorama, ITV’s Tonight, and her latest book Hacking Humanity (Penguin, July 2025), she has spent her career exploring how science and AI are shaping our health and our future.
So, what did she think of BrainPatch?
On her LinkedIn, Lara shared her first impression:
“Headphones that make you feel drunk… at the 💊 THE FIX last week. Thanks Nickolai Vysokov / BrainPatch. Through neurostimulation of the vestibular and vagus nerve they are actually meant for meditation, but as someone who doesn’t drink due to feeling so ill after, I was quite into this use.”
Of course, our e-Meditation headset isn’t meant for replacing the pub 🍻 — it’s designed to combine neurostimulationand music to help people relax, meditate, and explore new states of calm focus. But we love Lara’s humour (and honesty!) in describing her first encounter.
👉 If BrainPatch can make even a technology journalist who doesn’t drink say she “was quite into this use,” then we must be doing something right.
