Controls

Blue Light Indicator

  • Blinking: device is turning on or off.
  • Solid light: device is connected to the mobile app.

Power Button

  • Short press for 2 seconds: turn the device on or off.
  • Hold for 7 seconds while turning on: enter pairing mode.
  • Hold for 15 seconds: perform a forced restart.

Volume Control Switch

  • Push up: increase volume.
  • Push down: decrease volume.
  • Press in the center: play or pause.
  • Hold in the center for 10 seconds: enter pairing mode.

Green-Red Light Indicator

  • Green fast blinking: Bluetooth pairing mode.
  • Green slow blinking: headset connected.
  • Red blinking: low battery.
  • Red solid: charging.
  • Green solid while charging: fully charged.
  • Red blinking while charging: charging error.

USB Type-C Port

Used for charging from a 5V power source such as a computer, laptop, or power bank.

Safety

Do not use the device in meditation mode with stimulation if:

  • You are under 18 years old.
  • You have skin conditions or open wounds in the stimulation area.
  • You have metal or electronic implants in your head.
  • You have electronic implants in your body, including pacemakers.
  • You have severe or chronic neurological or psychiatric conditions.
  • You have cardiovascular disorders such as bradycardia or arrhythmia.
  • You have serious vestibular dysfunction.
  • You are driving, operating hazardous machinery, or moving around.
  • The device is charging.
  • You plan to use the device for unintended purposes.

Risks and Side Effects

  • Mild skin irritation may occur where the electrodes touch the skin.
  • Dizziness or disorientation may occur if stimulation is too long or too intense.
  • Rare headaches may occur.

Preparation for Use

Charging

  1. Connect the device to a power source.
  2. Make sure the red indicator light turns on.
  3. Charge the device fully, up to 4 hours.
  4. Disconnect the device when the green indicator light turns on.

Preparing the soaking solution

  • You can use saline solution or prepare your own by dissolving 1 g of table salt in 100 ml of water.
  • Use only freshly prepared solution.
  • Replace the solution if you notice sediment, flakes, or an unusual smell.
  • Make sure the salt is fully dissolved before use.

Installing the Mobile Application

Download the BrainPatch e-Meditation app from the App Store or Google Play, or use the quick link below.

Pairing with your phone

  • Turn on the device.
  • Select BrainPatch in your phone's Bluetooth settings. If several devices appear on Android, choose the one with the headset icon.
  • If the phone cannot find the device, put the headset into pairing mode.
  • After successful pairing, you will hear a sound notification and the device will reconnect automatically on future starts.

Connecting inside the app

  • Open the app and sign in or create an account.
  • On the main screen, open settings and select the BrainPatch e-Meditation device from the list.
  • Return to the main screen. The device should reconnect automatically next time.

Additional permissions

  • On first launch, allow Bluetooth and location access for nearby devices.
  • The app may also request local storage access for downloading media content.

How to Use the Device

Preparing the device

  • Make sure the device is charged, turned on, and connected in the app.
  • Thoroughly soak the pads with solution, squeeze out excess liquid, and insert them into the ear cushions.
  • Make sure the device fits snugly against the skin behind your ears.
  • Remove earrings, piercings, hair, or other objects from under the electrodes.

Preparing for a session

  • Sit comfortably in a chair with head support.
  • Do not use the device while walking or standing.

Conducting a session

  • Select a stimulation program and read its description.
  • Wait while the headset checks skin contact for 3 to 6 seconds.
  • Start with a low intensity level.
  • When the app says Ready to Start, press play.
  • Increase intensity only if needed and reduce it if you feel discomfort.
  • Keep your eyes closed unless the program description says otherwise.
  • Mild nausea, slight dizziness, relaxation, or vestibular illusions may occur temporarily and are considered normal reactions.
  • If you feel significant discomfort, stop the session and try again later with a lower intensity level.

Ending the Session and Care

Ending the Session

  1. Remove the headset.
  2. Take out the pads and return them to the storage bag.
  3. Wipe remaining solution from the ear cushions.
  4. Turn off the device.

Care Advice

  • Wipe the device dry with a soft cloth after each use.
  • If needed, clean it with an alcohol wipe.
  • Store the device in its case.
  • Replace pads if they smell unpleasant, are damaged, yellowed, or stained.
  • Store the headset in a dry place at 5°C to 30°C.
  • Keep replacement pads away from sunlight and other ultraviolet sources.

Troubleshooting

Issue Recommended action
The device does not turn on. Ensure that the device is charged.
The device does not turn on and cannot be charged. Make sure your power source and cable work correctly. Connect the device to charge, then perform a full reset by holding the power button for 15 seconds. If it still does not turn on, contact support.
Music plays from the phone instead of the headset. Check whether Bluetooth is enabled on the phone and set audio playback to the headset.
The app cannot connect to the device. Turn the device off and on again, then repeat the connection steps from the mobile app setup section. On older Android devices, make sure location services are enabled.
Stimulation is not felt. Ensure the pads are sufficiently soaked, make sure they have firm skin contact, and gradually increase the stimulation level.
Mild tingling sensation. This is normal. If discomfort persists, try using water without salt.
Strong or painful tingling. Make sure the electrodes are not touching the ear cartilage and reduce the stimulation intensity. If the issue persists, contact support.
Nausea or headache during stimulation. Stop using the device immediately. Try again later with a lower stimulation level. If the issue persists, contact support.
The device casing or internal components are damaged. Do not use the device. Contact customer support for repair or replacement.
Replacement pads have dried out. Rinse the pads with water, let them dry, and then soak them with stimulation solution. Consider storing them in airtight bags.
