Cuban Neuroscience Center

The Cuban Neuroscience Center, known as CNEURO, is a research institution located in Playa, Havana, specializing in neuroscience. CNEURO conducts basic and applied research, focusing on the development of high technology for diagnosing and intervening in mental health issues. Its research encompasses cognitive, social, and experimental neurosciences, clinical neurophysiology, molecular biology, and neuroinformatics. The center employs over 200 researchers who publish in high-impact journals such as Neuroimage and Human Brain Mapping. CNEURO collaborates with hospitals and institutions within the National Health and Education Systems to develop medical applications. The center is equipped with specialized clinical laboratories for chemical synthesis, brain MRI, three-dimensional printing, and hearing aids. CNEURO's current initiatives include multidisciplinary research on the nervous system and the creation of medical services for the detection, evaluation, and prevention of nervous system disorders.
