New collection of blogs from the Oxford Health BRC AIMday

In July 2021 researchers from the Oxford Health BRC hosted an Academic Industry Meeting Day in Experimental Medicine in Psychiatry. A number of early career researchers were invited to write about the sessions they attended and their blogs have been brought together in the collection below.

It was attended by nearly 90 researchers and more than 50 representatives of 15 industry partners and marked the launch of a new Experimental Medicine Industry Partnership (EMIP). The EMIP will provide a framework through which BRC researchers can use their expertise to support commercial organisations, implementing experimental medicine approaches in psychiatric treatment development programmes.

The AIM day in Experimental Medicine was an excellent start to our Experimental Medicine and Industry Partnership. It was fascinating to hear pressing questions from industry perspective and take part in a roundtable discussion with other Oxford academics. I was thrilled that 53 representatives from industry joined us for this day (across 15 companies) and ranged from small to large and with interests spanning such a wide breadth of treatment development in Psychiatry. The conversations have spearheaded many collaborations and have inspired us to develop our models in ways that also work best for industry requirements.
